Hi I am Sammy. Owner and operator of Safe Turn Driving. Born and bred in the Adelaide Hills, I bring over 30 years of driving experience coupled with over 20 years of experience as a Senior Firefighter with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service. Beyond my working life I I have studied teaching and have operated a personal training studio and retail businesses. ​I am alos a proud and devoted father of two teen sons and two stepdaughters.
My colleagues often describe me as calm and mild-mannered, consistently maintaining a positive attitude in my work. Parenting both male and female teenagers has highlighted the significance of listening, understanding, and offering constructive guidance, which I believe essential for building strong relationships with young people. ​I integrate this philosophy into my teaching, fostering a healthy and relaxed learning atmosphere.
The motivation behind founding SAFE TURN stems from my experiences responding to the aftermath of numerous road accidents in South Australia. These incidents, along with the heartbreaking loss of life on the Adelaide Hills Roads, inspired me to become a Driving Instructor.

I am committed to providing all my students with a high standard of driver education and safety, treating them as if they were my own children. This commitment ensures they are not prepared for their tests but also equipped to be lifelong safe drivers.

The cost of living and expenses can be challenging. As a parent, I understand the additional financial burden comes with supporting a dependent through driver lessons and testing. So we pride ourselves on delivering all programs in a timely manner to get students on the road in a timely manner.

AT Safe Turn we utilize the Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) method, which allows us to offer focused and relaxed lessons customized for each student. I also incorporate the Driver's Companion to equip our students with essential skills and provide feedback forms for parents and guardians to assist their children in their own time, ultimately saving money.
Additionally, we offer specially designed resources to help reinforce and accelerate our students', increasing their likelihood of passing the VORT on their first attempt. Ultimately Safe Turn is committed to delivering the highest standard of road safety knowledge and skills for safe driving.
